Being back home after being at university for 2 years is strange. A part of me feels like I have lost my independence; my parents cook and each week just feels like a very long holiday from whenever I made trips back home during Christmas, Easter or Summer. However, another part of me feels like my life has just started to begin. With placement happening, I am having the opportunity to explore more of London, as well as meeting so many new, exciting and cool people.Read More
It has been a while since I have done a blog post for the University of Plymouth, but a lot of circumstances have changed - one being starting my placement year at the start of September. So far, it has been an amazing experience.
My job role has changed from being a “Social Media Intern” to “Social Media and Media Manager”. I work in at a charity called “The Sapphire Community Group” which aims to help young people bring out their more creative side with our workshops, events and support such as counselling and mentoring. The charity is based in Old Street which isn’t a long commute to and from home, which is great after a long day in the office.Read More
From 20 June until 4 July, I had the opportunity to go to Jiangnan University in Wuxi, China for a design summer school, with some other students from Plymouth University.
The design summer school focused on 3D printing, creating a product within groups as well as having the opportunity to visit different cities such as Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou. As well as making some incredible memories in China with both the Chinese and Plymouth students, I feel like I have made amazing friends and have had an unforgettable experience in China overall.Read More

After I got my place secured at Plymouth University, I received an email about being a student blogger. I thought that this would be a great way not only to share and document my experience as a student at the University of Plymouth, but also make use of my new laptop!
As a student ambassador I represent the university, sharing my experiences within as well as outside university, such as pros and cons of university life, places I have been in Plymouth and what I get up to during the holidays. Being a student blogger gives me both a voice with the content I produce, as well as an excuse to do more things, such as café hopping, visiting places in Plymouth as well as getting out of my comfort zone and sharing what I have gone through to help prospective students who may want to come to Plymouth in the new year.Read More
