🎓 Why I Became A Student Ambassador 🎓

After I got my place secured at Plymouth University, I received an email about being a student blogger. I thought that this would be a great way not only to share and document my experience as a student at the University of Plymouth, but also make use of my new laptop!

As a student ambassador I represent the university, sharing my experiences within as well as outside university, such as pros and cons of university life, places I have been in Plymouth and what I get up to during the holidays. Being a student blogger gives me both a voice with the content I produce, as well as an excuse to do more things, such as café hopping, visiting places in Plymouth as well as getting out of my comfort zone and sharing what I have gone through to help prospective students who may want to come to Plymouth in the new year.

Since being a student blogger, I have had the opportunity to take part in a photoshoot with other student bloggers, where the result of my photo ended up being posted at the Plymouth train station. I also had the opportunity to do a social media take over on Instagram and Snapchat on Apply with Plymouth. This helped me to show prospective students and Plymouth based students what I get up to. I also got to showcase an event which I got invited to ‘Alice in Wonderland’ which was a tea party with Alice, The Mad Hatter and their friends. I got to make my own potion, have some cake and talk to some of the characters. Alongside this, by being a student blogger I got some attention by people who were organising #illuminate2017. I got to take a tour behind the scenes of the event and blog about my experience alongside having some amazing food in Las Iguanas on Royal William Yard with other bloggers who were Plymouth based. Being a student blogger has got me to experience weird and exciting events where being able to share experience to other people has been amazing.

Being in my 2nd year of University and thinking back to my application to be a student blogger, I didn’t think it would get attention for something I genuinely love to do. Going into cafes to get inspiration for my blogs, being invited to blog about events and being part of photo shoots isn’t something I thought I would get into as part of my blogging journey, but it has happened and I’m looking forward to what else I can be a part of and share to people who would be interested in.
