Being brought up in the city, I am used to trains and buses being packed with people always in a rush, no matter where you are. Once I knew that I wanted to go to university, I knew that I wanted to be outside of London. People don’t realise that “London” is a culture; you get so caught up with the lifestyle of moving fast, trying to keep up with trends, and with the lifestyle of what you should “be” while living in London. Moving out of London to Plymouth was the best decision I have ever made.Read More
Being in London the festive period can be super busy, however the lead up to January can be quiet but being London there is so much to do! Here are some of the things I got up to:
Catching up with Friends:
The best thing about being in London during the festive period is seeing my friends come home for the holidays. It has been a while since I have done a blog post for the University of Plymouth, but a lot of circumstances have changed - one being starting my placement year at the start of September. So far, it has been an amazing experience.
My job role has changed from being a “Social Media Intern” to “Social Media and Media Manager”. I work in at a charity called “The Sapphire Community Group” which aims to help young people bring out their more creative side with our workshops, events and support such as counselling and mentoring. The charity is based in Old Street which isn’t a long commute to and from home, which is great after a long day in the office.Read More
From 20 June until 4 July, I had the opportunity to go to Jiangnan University in Wuxi, China for a design summer school, with some other students from Plymouth University.
The design summer school focused on 3D printing, creating a product within groups as well as having the opportunity to visit different cities such as Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou. As well as making some incredible memories in China with both the Chinese and Plymouth students, I feel like I have made amazing friends and have had an unforgettable experience in China overall.Read More
