Reflecting on my placement year

Reflecting on my placement year

Hearing about the struggles of my friends who are completing their dissertations is really eye opening and it is now setting in that it will be a big challenge, but an exciting challenge hopefully. Seeing how much work and the long hours that are needed to do the dissertation has made me be more proactive with my time and I have started making a small plan, along with doing some reading on my chosen topic so I can get straight into it when I return to Plymouth in September.

An update on what I've been up to

An update on what I've been up to

I see it fit to describe work as a seesaw.  If you think about a seesaw, it either goes up or down… This reflects my field of work as my work load can go up and down very quickly and can go from one extreme to the other in no time at all.  When it’s “down” I use this time as best I can to get organized with everything and follow up on any loose strings there may be so that when I am on an “up” motion,  and can’t keep my feet on the floor then I know where things are and how I can return to a more stable level.

An update on my year on placement

Last time I wrote I was about to head off to Slovenia skiing for a week… It was such a good week away and I would definitely recommend it. The Slovenians are such nice people always wanting to help. We stayed in Bled, which is one of the prettiest places I have been with the spectacular landscape around Lake Bled and mountains as an amazing backdrop. It was so nice to get away and have some time off work and to be able to switch off completely and just enjoy some free time!
