Reflecting on my first year

So, my first year of psychology has come to an end, but my summer has only just begun. So far this year I have made the most amazing, like-minded, outdoor loving mates, giving me some incredible opportunities to further my love for surfing, snowboarding, and skating. I’ve even tried some slacklining in Plymouth, down by the sea.

Although I am still basing myself in Plymouth for the summer, being a student of Plymouth University means a lot of opportunities for working around the country… my festival working summer has just begun.

Bar work at festivals has meant fun, a free music festival and pay! What more could a student want?! I have worked Radio 1’s big weekend, Bristol Lets Rock festival, and my most recent festival bar work was Download festival in Donnington. The rain was like nothing I had ever seen before, but I didn’t let that put a dampener on my week. What made the week even more insane was the fact we were working the VIP bar at the festival, seeing some familiar rock bands and of course trying not to fan girl and play it cool.

As the majority of my uni friends have gone home for the summer, I have been working festivals alone, but each time I have come back with the most incredible memories, and have made some awesome mates along the way. Looking forward to my new summer adventures!!
