Exams are over… Surf's up!

My final exams of second year of Psychology are complete. It definitely was not an easy time for me or any university student for that matter. Long working hours in the library, copious amounts of coffee and Red Bull, and dreaming of surfing. In fact one day me and my course mate were in the library attempting to revise for our first exam- and one thing led to another… We checked the surf forecast, and could not resist leaving the library to go for a surf across to Bude (1 hour drive away). We had buried ourselves in books and lecture recordings until it got too much so had to take a well-earned break that day. But that hard work we put into hours upon hours of studying means I have completed my second year.

Our University 'Raise and Give' society are always running events to raise money for charities. I saw a post on Facebook about the yearly Colour Dash and remembering last year seeing the morning aftermath of colour on the pavement around campus, I was dying to get involved. This year the society decided to give the money they raised from entry fees to Brain Tumour research.

Reflecting on my first year

Bar work at festivals has meant fun, a free music festival and pay! What more could a student want?! I have worked Radio 1’s big weekend, Bristol Lets Rock festival, and my most recent festival bar work was Download festival in Donnington. The rain was like nothing I had ever seen before, but I didn’t let that put a dampener on my week. What made the week even more insane was the fact we were working the VIP bar at the festival, seeing some familiar rock bands and of course trying not to fan girl and play it cool.
