Finding out about University

Trust me when I say this -  a year may seem like a long time away; but September 2017 will soon come around and you will be starting your University course!

You’re probably tirelessly wading through University prospectuses and looking at websites trying to figure out which University has a great reputation, good course content and of course; great social life – I’ve been there, and done that.

For my course, Plymouth has a great history in the beginning of the career which is very exciting and it made me want to be a part of that journey, so it was my first choice. However, I was swayed by the beautiful surroundings of ‘Britain’s Ocean City’!

A useful website for me was ‘Which? University’ as it outlines course specific statistics of student satisfaction, % of those in employment/further education a year after graduation and so on. However, if you want to know everything else ‘The Student Room’ is a great website – a forum full of students asking every question (literally!).

Although, it must be said that you simply cannot get a feel for somewhere without going and seeing it. Only you will know if you feel happy in a place and can see yourself studying there; so, attend open days, drag family and friends down for the weekend and explore! Plymouth has so much to offer that it must be seen to be believed.

Remember, if you see/speak to any students or ambassadors they are more than likely to answer any questions you may have; we’ve all been in your position and we relied upon the honesty of others. Also, social media is a great way to get talking, so tweet away! #PlymUni

I mean, where else will you views like this in October?!
