How do you stay calm on results day?

Hello all!

As summer is fast approaching and you’re probably all incredibly busy getting ready for university life, you can’t help but think what’s coming up – results day.

It has now been two years since I received my A level results and four years since I got my GCSE’s, so trust me I know what you’re feeling and what I’m going to do is give you a few tips on how to stay calm (or even just make the wait easier).

Firstly, it is always great to have an incentive for after you receive your results. For example, my friends and I went and had a celebratory meal after our results. We didn’t even mention what we had achieved, we just focussed on what we were doing next. It was really nice to do this because if we hadn’t done great, we weren’t dwelling on it.

Secondly, you need to keep in mind that as long as you did your best, that is all that matters and there is more to you than just your grades. Think about all the skills you will pick up in your summer part time work! These will help contribute to your CV massively!

Next, and I know how hard this one is but try and get a good nights sleep. You will thank yourself the next day as you will be able to interpret what’s going on, what’s next and you won’t feel tired for those plans you have in the evening.

And finally, just know it will all be over before you know and most of the time you come away thinking…. “Why was I so stressed out?”.
