First Year - Moving Day

University. It seems so far away but trust me, it creeps up on you so quickly before you even have time to register what is going on around you. First thing you know you’re producing the personal statement that causes an unbearable amount of stress and the next thing you know, you’re in your halls room and that’s it. It’s begun. The next chapter of your life.

I am currently living in halls just off of campus and I love it! I have my own studio flat all to myself (I’m not one for sharing!) but yet I have made some amazing friends within the short amount of time I have been there. Freshers may have nearly killed me (NOT LITERALLY!) but I have never had so much fun in my life and I wouldn’t have changed a thing about it. I had no idea what to expect when I got to Plymouth, despite living so close, and I was super scared. The advice I would give to all first years is to just throw yourself into it because that way you will meet people and get yourself known. Plymouth is definitely the right place for me as I still live by the sea and I also have the city experience, even if the weather is a bit rubbish at times…

And the course? Well, put it this way, I couldn’t have picked something more suited to me as I have. Business is something that I have always had an interest in and when studying it at A level, I amazed myself at how much I actually understood and got involved in. It was because of this that I chose to study business management. The course content is just what I wanted it to be and I am so happy I made the right decision!

Until next time…
