The end to my first year at Plymouth

So this is my first ever blog post, so bear with me. I’m Alex and as you'll find out, I actually enjoy my degree of Mathematics here at sunny Plymouth. One of the reasons I chose Plymouth as my university of choice was the fact that it’s by the sea, Birmingham is somewhat lacking a sea. A good way to unwind after I finished my first year exams was to take a visit to one of the nearby beaches that Plymouth has to offer, here’s a snap I stole from my insta. We had a brilliant day with the sun beating down, I even braved a swim in the deep blue.

Next on the diary was the Summer Ball, with Labrinth headlining it was definitely a night to remember. The night started with a lot of preparation, and then waiting for everyone else to be ready. As we approached the transformed Student Union we could instantly see that an effort had been made with fairground rides to a headphone Disc and 7 stages of live entertainment. Sorry for the selfie, I do apologise. That was the end of my first year at uni, it is said to be the best year of your life and I think I agree with that statement. Then it was the start of my summer (more of that to come in another amazing blog post).

It was the start to a new year in sunny Plymouth and first up was the first Maths Society social of the year, a highly original white t-shirt social was on the cards. Organised by my amazing committee it was sure to be a success. It started off slow but escalated quickly, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and feedback was better than we could have ever hoped for. Enjoy this group picture of the night.
